A great way to add comfort and usability is by adding a lamp post to your entrance or walkway.  We have converted many lamps posts to low voltage with LED lamps.  By adding it to your low voltage system this is very cost effective and easy to install compared to most line voltage posts.  Contact us to give you an estimate on replacing an old gas or line voltage lamp with a new, effiicient post top.

Kichler recently came out with a new product called LED Task tape.  The most common applications are for kitchens where it can be installed under the toe kick, under the counter top, underneath the cabinets, and on top of the cabinets.  They also make a wet line which can be used for any outdoor space. It is very easy to hide because of its size which makes it very versatlie.  We would be glad to come out and show you the product in your home and let you see this impressive product.

Upgrade to LED

Fall is the time of the year when your lighting is more valuable and useful.   We change out many well lights, which are outdated and unreliable, for brass accent fixtures with LED.  This is a great long term investment because of their reliability and low maintenance costs.

Outdoor Living Areas

The weather is warming up and many people are spending more time outdoors.  Lighting these spaces around your home will allow you to enjoy them even more.  Recently we have completed several projects around pool areas and patios.  Custom lamp posts were used to light large areas around the decking and  provide light where uplighting or downlighting was not an option.  Not only do the lamps illuminate large areas but they also add a decorative, classic look.  We converted line voltage lamp posts over to LED low voltage.  The light source was hidden, which produced no glare, and provided indirect, soft lighting for these areas.  We also use Kichler LED rail lights for steps, decks, and retaining walls.  These fixtures are a huge hit with customers because of their small size and large output.  By installing a lighting system, you will add value to your outdoor space and enhance the investment you have made in your living area.

Custom lighting for any need

Most people notice how dark their homes and surroundings are during the winter months.  This is a great time to have outdoor lighting installed, as you can enjoy it more during these short days.  We recently finished a project where a customer had a need for a well lit backyard.  We used a combination of uplights and downlights to make the space more secure and usable.  Using four downlights we were able to achieve the amount of light they needed and several uplights added some ambient lighting to the tree line at the back of the property.  They were also excited about the automation so they could have the lighting only when they needed it.  This project had some unique specifications which were achieved by design techniques and the proper fixtures.

Holiday Lighting

It's early December and most people are preparing their homes for parties, visits from relatives, and other exciting events.  If you have lighting, it is an important time to have the system checked so that the entrance to your home is as inviting and warm as the decorations inside.  This is a great time to make sure all lamps are working, that the fixtures are adjusted properly, and that the system is running efficiently so that you get the most use out of your system. There are specialty lights that can sometimes be added temporarily to your system to give it a Christmas feel.  For a quick, easy Christmas touch we can add red or green lenses to most accent fixtures for a soft colorful look.  Anytime you need your next service, ask us about replacing your standard bulbs with LED lamps.  The benefits of LED are numerous, and with the cost of these lamps steadily dropping, they are a great option when deciding on lamp replacement.  The LED's we use, have a 5 yr. warranty and are rated for more than 40,000 hours.   Have a wonderful Christmas and New Year's!!

Fall Maintenance

Early fall is the peak season for Outdoor Lighting installations.  With the days getting shorter, many homeowners will realize the need for lighting and have it installed.  For homeowners who have existing systems, they will enjoy and get more use from their lighting.  Now is a great time to have your system checked and to re-lamp each fixture.  Most halogen and incandescent lamps are rated for 3000 to 4000 hours.  The average run time for most systems is 6 to 8 hours, which meets the life hour rating.  If you place two fixtures side by side, one with a new lamp and one with over 3000 hours, you will easily notice the difference.  The new lamp will be more intense and have a more consistent spread.  This is the perfect opportunity to re-lamp each fixture with LED drop ins or integrated components.  Not only will the life hours increase to 40,000, but you will reduce energy consumption by nearly 75%.  This leads to lower running costs and takes a noticeable amount of strain off the transformer.  Our re-lamp service also includes cleaning each fixture and its components, checking for corrosion or potential problems, and measuring the amperage at each tap on the transformer.  This ensures that the system is running properly and efficiently.  Lighting is like any other investment, it requires maintenance to run properly and prevent issues in the future.
